We organised our second LWC Community Day this year - a coastal clean-up at East Coast Beach. Given our team's love for nature, it was a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the community by caring for our public spaces.

Blessed with great weather in the morning, nine of us combed the beach and park and collected approximately 10kg of trash. It was heartening to see fellow beach enthusiasts conducting their own litter picking excursions that day.

Our cleanup efforts unveiled an assortment of waste, including cigarette butts, food packaging, drink cans, styrofoam and even broken glass, posing potential hazards to barefoot beachgoers, including children and pets. A poignant reminder that each of us have a part to play in maintaining the cleanliness of our shared spaces—imagine how much cleaner our beach could be if everyone disposed of their rubbish responsibly.

We concluded the morning with a hearty meal of Turkish fare, shared with some LWC friends who joined us on this Tuesday morning to contribute their efforts.
